Programme for 1984

We hope that 1984 Annual General meeting will be well attended and that ideas can be discussed for the programme for 1984. In recent years the programme has been very full in the period from late September to early November. The outgoing Executive is of the view that the Prepared Debate Contests should commence earlier in the year and that the Herald Public Speaking Contest and Dick Champion Impromptu Speaking Contest could also be brought forward. Adjudicators

We are most grateful to our Adjudicators for the time and effort which they put into the work they do. It is a thankless task which seldom earns them the credit they deserve. With departures from the city and pressures of other obligations we find that an ever decreasing number of willing adjudicators carry the burden for the Association. If you would like to be an adjudicator or if you know of persons qualified to act as adjudicators please advise us - preferably in writing together with contact addresses and telephone numbers. So that we can ensure that our records are up to date would all present adjudicators please complete the attached slip and return it to the writer.

Entries for 1984 Debating Contests

Please give consideration to the Contests which you and your Club will wish to enter this year. Entry forms will be available at the Annual General Meeting and must be returned no later than 24th February 1984.

The outgoing Executive is anxious that 1984 get off to a good start. You can assist yourselves and the incoming Executive by being present at the Annual General meeting and giving all the benefit of your ideas and by completing the attached slips and returning them without delay.
