It is my very great pleasure to write to you and invite your organisation to send a representative (and partner) to a function being held in the beautifully restored and refurbished Auckland Town Hall as part of the opening festivities.
The event ("Celebrating Auckland -100 Years of Service") is to honour those community organisations which have given 100 years or more service to the people of the city.
The cabaret evening is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm on Tuesday 18 November 1997 in the Great Hall of the Auckland Town Hall.
The evening will be a gala occasion of dining, dancing and entertainment with the centrepiece being the award of certificates to honour 100 year plus organisations.
The City is funding the evening and we will have approximately 150 organisations attending. Unfortunately, the available space (in cabaret mode) will not allow us to invite more than one couple per organisation, plus Councillors and a few special guests.
Please mark this in your "must go" file as it will be a great evening and it would be fantastic to have all invited organisations present.
