Membership

Financial Report

• The financial statements for the year ending 31 December 1996 was received and submitted for auditing.
• ADA Bank signatories are to be any two of Wayne McDougall, Patricia Adams and Audrey Fish.
• The expenditure report was received and Wayne McDougall was to be reimbursed $2,763.01.
• A petty cash float of $40 to be established.
• The report on 1996 Budget vs Actual Income and Expenditure was received.
• The 1997 budget was adopted.
• A savings account is to opened and all available cash to be held in the account, to be transferred as required to cover cheques.
• The second 02 cheque account to be closed.
• The ADA is to open a credit account with Auckland Co-Op Taxis for the purpose of providing taxi chits to adjudicators when required.

1. Payments to adjudicators $910 - Approved
2. Door charge at NSANZ meeting reimbursed to Wayne McDougall $25 - Approved
3. Book - Fund-raising for non-profit Groups reimbursed to Wayne McDougall $34.95 - Approved

Adjudicators

• President to write to each adjudicator, confirming contact details and usual times of availability, as well as their willingness to adjudicate in 1997.
• Adjudicators for school debates in 1997 to sign a Child Safety declaration.
• Base payment for adjudicators to be raised from $10 to $20 per session.
• Additional payment of $10 for additional 50km travelled (one-way).

Annual General Meeting

• Cathy Rodgers to be asked to continue as Honorary Legal Officer.
• Barbara Jordan, auditor of an ITC club to be approached to be auditor. If she is unavailable, Tristyn McDougall to be asked to continue.
• AGM to be called for Sunday 27 April at 7pm.

Athenaeum

Executive

• Executive vacancies to be advertised in ADA affirms.
• Potential new executive members to be contacted directly.
• Advanced level students to be encouraged to become involved.

Impromptu Debating

• Small trophies to be made available for winning teams in impromptu debating competitions - up to $80 approved.
• Tentative date for 1997 impromptu school debating competition on 11 May.
• Presidents' Cup to be held on 18 May.

Membership

• 1997 annual dinner to be combined with the national championships dinner.
• Advertise for ADA members with a free notice in the Auckland University Craccum student newspaper.
• To propose to the AGM that $1,350+GST be spent on developing a professional logo and image.
