Minutes of the last executive meeting

Minutes of the last executive meeting were distributed. One amendment: a letter was to go TO Wayne regarding schools adjudication, not FROM Wayne as was stated.

Correspondence In:

There was no correspondence from the NZDC despite a promise in June for a newsletter regarding Nationals. A letter is to be sent to lan Rennie asking to details.

A report was received from Victoria Pearson and Ben Wilson on the adjudication seminar that they attended in Sydney.

THAT payment be approved of $200 less AUDS affiliation subscription fees for `94-'95 of $40. Carried

Correspondence Out:

Wayne to follow up prisons enquiries.

Schools report:

Given by R Bright. He outlined details of how the national schools competition is to be run in 1996. He suggested that we correspond with the NZSDC saying that we are happy with the proposed changes and look forward to an active year ahead. Wayne expressed concerns: that schools can be part of the NZSDC but the ADA cannot (by Alex Gillespie's definitions). Wayne is therefore to draft a letter saying that we are pleased with the positive steps and challenge them to include the ADA and other like organisations. If they will not, ask for the reasons why.

Finances:

$297 for accommodation, travel and expenses, plus $100 for registration fees to be reimbursed to S Judd in relation to the national schools competition.

THAT we reimburse S Judd, J White, J Pipe and W McDougall for expenses incurred to date
Proposed: M Bright
2nd: R Bright Carried

THAT the executive authorise the President & Treasurer for payment of medallions for the finals round upon receipt of quote. Carried

Membership:

There are vacancies on the ADA. Claire Ryan is to be approached by Wayne and asked to join. Saul Holt has expressed an interest in running the Athenaeum competition. Wayne is to approach him regarding this.

THAT Jackie White's resignation be received with regret. Carried

Constitutional Review sub-committee:

1st September is still to be the due date.
